Parent\/caregiver photo sessions: A new take on photos of us and the children you love, with you. <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Of all the scheduled sessions I do in a year, it\u2019s hard to pick a favourite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I guess you might say that whatever I am gearing up to do, preparing for, e-mailing with clients about, is my favourite in that moment.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

My traditional springtime Mommy & Me<\/em> sessions have always been special, not only because they coincide with warmer weather, longer, sunnier days, and the fresh promise of spring, but also because they\u2019ve given me an opportunity to create a special backdrop that communicates the enduring relationship between a mom and her little ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m always looking for new ways to build a set, either outdoors or in, that conveys the warmth and softness of retreating into a mother\u2019s embrace. (I know, it sounds corny when you write it down! Which is why I prefer to draw on an atmosphere.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve recreated bedrooms with floral print coverlets and lively greenery, recalling early morning cuddles and warm sheets; I\u2019ve asked everyone to cuddle in a wicker egg chair, it\u2019s honeyed wood tones and creamy pillows a perfect metaphor for a mom\u2019s hug\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

But this year, I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to cast the net a little wider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The demographic that wants to celebrate their child extends beyond moms\u2026to dads, grandparents and non-binary loved ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I realized that what I was striving to capture could be pared down to something more essential, elemental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s connection I wanted to bring front and centre this year. I wanted to boil these photos down to their most essential, timeless meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why you\u2019ll see I\u2019ve opted for crisp images against a bare bones backdrop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Because to me, it expresses the truest, purest thing about loving a child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

No matter the age, no matter the relationship, no matter the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

This year, I\u2019m re-branding Mommy & Me to something a little different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m calling it, simply, US.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cost: <\/strong>$200 for the first child + one parent or caregiver, with an add on of $30\/per additional child.

Who is this for?<\/strong> This session is for one<\/span><\/strong> caregiver or parent or adult loved one and the children they’d like to create these beautiful images with. Please see the outdoor family sessions if you’re interested in a larger group – or reach out for studio family pricing.

More info:<\/strong> This session is 15-20 minutes and all images are of the caregiver\/parent\/adult loved one and the children. This is a session about togetherness, about your bond, time together and so all of the photos will include the the adult and one or more of the children – it’s about you. We’ll have fun and your gallery of 7-10 images in colour (with black & white versions) will be available within two weeks of your session, with the option to order prints\/download the high resolution images. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
