Summer Connections: A Heartwarming Extended Family Session
There’s something truly special about June in Ottawa. The days are warm and long, nature is in full bloom, and it feels like the perfect time to gather with loved ones and celebrate the bonds that connect us. This extended family session, nestled in the beauty of Ottawa’s historic Log Farm, was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do.
This family brought together three generations, including grandparents visiting from out of the country and a sister whose presence made the session even more meaningful. Extended family sessions like this one are rare and precious opportunities. With everyone’s busy lives and geographic distances, it’s not every day you can capture such a full and heartfelt story of family togetherness.
From tender moments with the grandparents to candid laughs shared among siblings, the love and connection were palpable. I especially loved watching the dynamic between grandchild and grandparents—a bond that is so important and deserves to be celebrated. These are the moments that become cherished memories for years to come.
For families with older children, I know photo sessions can sometimes feel a little more challenging. Older kids bring their own personalities, quirks, and sometimes resistance to the idea of “posing for pictures.” But those same personalities make the photos all the more real and unique to your family. Capturing these moments, even when life feels busy or chaotic, is always worth it.
