Capturing the Whole Crew: Why Extended Family Sessions are a Must
.jpg)
We often wait for the “perfect” moment to get everyone together. We wait for the right weather, for everyone to be in the same city, or for that one elusive weekend when no one has a practice, a meeting, or a something else to do.
But if you’re waiting for the perfect schedule, you might be waiting forever. The truth is, there’s never a convenient time to coordinate a dozen or more people, but it is always the right time to document the people who matter most.
More Than Just a Portrait
An extended family session is about more than just getting a nice photo of the grandparents with all the grandkids (though those are often the most treasured). These sessions are a celebration of your family’s legacy. They are a great add-on to your yearly portraits or a perfect standalone event when the whole branch of the family tree finally lands in town – like this family has done!
Think of these as visual heirlooms. We aren’t just taking pictures; we’re capturing the way you look at your loved ones, the laughter between siblings who haven’t lived under the same roof for many years, and the pride in the eyes of the family matriarchs and patriarchs. We are making memories together – and this is what matters the most.
We had a wonderful session together, wandering and creating beautiful images and mostly memories. Those who have worked with me for many years know this, and I hope, all new families see this too. I want us to have fun together and for the experience to be something memorable in the most positive, joyful way possible!
